FORIEGN EXCHANGE-FX

THE LARGEST FINANCIAL MARKET IN THE WORLD
Initially Foreign Exchange (FX) trading was limited only to large international banks.
Since it opened to the public it has been the one of the fastest growing trading vehicles
in the world. Trillions of dollars in cash currencies are traded five days a week, twenty-
four hours a day.  This is more than is traded daily on all the stock exchanges of the
world combined!

                                                     WHAT IS FX?
The FX is a twenty-four hour a day over-the-counter market that trades the current
(spot) values of the worlds major currencies.  Trading starts Sunday 5 PM ET and ends
on Friday 5 PM ET.  Unlike the New York Stock Exchange or the Chicago commodity
exchange, the FX does not have a  permanent location and most trades are made
electronically.  Trading starts in Sydney on Sunday evening then moves around the
world during the course of the day to Tokyo, London, and New York.

                                              WHO TRADES THE FX?
Companies doing business globally trade the FX as a way to change their domestic
currencies into foreign currencies and then again to change the foreign currencies back
into their domestic currencies.  Of the total traded each day, the commercial trade
amounts to less than 10%.  The remaining trade is made up of speculators attempting
to profit from the changing exchange values of the worlds major currencies.

                                                     FX BASICS
Currencies are traded in pairs, like buying the Euro and selling the U.S. Dollar, or
buying the Swiss Franc and selling the Japanese Yen.  The trader is hopeful that the
currency purchased will either go higher or retain value better than the currency sold.
